Adventures in the Happy Water Colour Course!

I have enjoyed the Love Art, Happy Life course enough that I have decided to take another course from Bloknote Academy, the Happy Water Colour Course.

Happy happywatercolourcourse_banner1-462x392I am really excited to start this course as I have found a great love of watercolors and want to learn more about how to work with them in fun ways.  The instruction from Marieke Blokland in the LAHL course is one of the best and while I know that many other artists featured as instructors, there is part of me that wishes she had done almost all of them.

Though, if I’m fair, I have learned a lot about making an instructional video for my own purposes from the other instructors.  Examples include: wearing a bra and unstained shirt when cutting a video, preparing what you are going to say and looking at the camera while trying to inspire your audience.  Education comes in varied forms and while what I’ve learned will likely be viewed as quite judgmental, I also recognize that many people are wholly dismissive of someone who isn’t put together or who is talking about being confident while not being confident herself.

I’m not dismissive of the information I’ve gathered from these instructors, but I know others might be and when I get ready to be vulnerable myself and put it all out there, I don’t want to be dismissed.

So, for the next several weeks, I will be sharing my progress on the Happy Water Colour Course lessons and what I learn each week.  I am very hopeful that I might even win one of the give-away water color sets  from Windsor & Newton as I would love to expand my water color palette and am really impressed with their watercolors.

Have you ever tried online learning for art?  Have you had good or bad experiences?  Leave your thoughts in the comments for discussion!
